What exactly is printed oak you ask? Its the pattern of quarter sawn oak printed onto the wood, usually maple, and it was a very popular finish done in the early 19th century. Quarter sawn oak has always been very desireable and expensive, in the early 19th century, maple was plentiful and much more affordable. What makes printed oak so unique, is it easily fools the eye. This classic lowboy was probably sold through the Eaton's catalogue early 1900's. Beatifully made, all original hardware and mirror. I love these lowboys, i think they make a perfect front entrance piece as their mirrors offer a full length view. Measures 42" wide, 21" deep, and 71" high including the mirror.
Beautiful pine wardrobe from France, circa 1880. Lovely patina, in excellent condition, currently has a bar for hanging clothine, also has side supports installed for shelving as an alternative.
